Noun is refers to the name of a person, place, animal, idea or thing.


Classification of  Noun

Conventional Approach

1. Proper Noun

Proper Noun refers to the name of a particular person, place, animal or thing.
e.g. :- Rohit, Gopalganj, Tommy, Moon etc

2. Common Noun

Common Noun refers to the name of the whole class of person, place, animal or thing.
e.g. :- Man, City, Dog, Book etc

3. Collective Noun

Collective noun refers to the collection of the same kind of person or thing.
e.g. :- Family, Team, Flock, Bunch etc

4. Material Noun

Material noun refers to the thing(s) which can be measured or weighed but can not be counted.
e. g. :- Gold, Petrol, Rice, Cement etc

5. Abstract Noun

Abstract noun refers to the thing which meant only for feeling not for looking or touching.
e.g. :- Honesty, Mercy, Wisdom, Death etc

Noun that can be counted is called the "Countable Noun".

3. Uncountable Noun

Noun that can not be counted is called the "Uncountable Noun".
